Tomislav “Stingray” Baresic  will be teaching the Power Punch – Tai Chi Chuan Workshop

Tom has been involved in martial arts from a young age and trained in various styles such as Karate, Kung Fu, Muay Thai and Wrestling however has chosen to specialise in Tai Chi Chuan over the last 17 years.

What most people don’t know is that Tai chi originally became famous as a martial art. Early exponents were so well regarded for their skill that they taught the guards of the Emperor of China and found work protecting merchants from bandits. Practitioners who had learnt the martial art also attained great health which led to tai chi’s fame for promoting health and longevity.

The emphasis of tai chi is to use skill and accuracy to overcome strength and aggression. With good skill, there is no need for blocking, resisting or tense grabbing. Great power can be harnessed through correct timing of sequential movement in a relaxed state to generate strikes.

Tom also works in the security industry.
